There is a total of only 25 beds (23 single rooms and 1 double room) which creates a quiet and personal environment for residents. Many families comment on our friendly, family atmosphere. This is in part due to the gracious old building with its high ceilings and spacious lounges – and also due to dedicated and, in many cases, long serving staff.
Rhodes Memorial Home is a licensed rest home facility with HDSS (Health & Disability Sector Standards) accreditation.
The Nurse manager is assisted by Registered Nurses, an Enrolled Nurse, caregivers, household and maintenance staff. All meals are prepared on site.
A full time Diversional Therapist provides a comprehensive daily activity programme which includes exercises, quizzes, bowls, housie, music, library, entertainment, outings and Happy Hour!
A purpose built Hair Salon is operated twice weekly by two hairdressers. A podiatrist visits the home six weekly.
General Practitioners – residents have the choice to retain their own GP or use the services of one of the GP’s who visit Rhodes regularly.
Church Services are interdenominational and are held in the Rest Home each week on a rotating basis.
The Friends of Rhodes is an active support network of volunteers, many are ex staff or management committee members, who provide regular fellowship, assistance and support to residents.
Residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture and personal belongings, within the safety constraints of their room.
